sunroof???

Post by JoeM71 »

Hey Guys. The black molding around my sunroof in between the glass and the weatherstrip is pitted and bubbling. Does anyone know of a new nos sunroof around, or a way for me to fix what i have properly???

2 pieces of weatherstripping for the flip up/open air roof (Ford gets creative with their names for a sunroof/moonroof).

One piece of weatherstripping attaches to the body.

One piece of weatherstripping attaches around the roof itself.

Ford weatherstripping is still available last time I checked. If not, the reproduction meatheads offer the pieces in a kit for under $200 it seems. Going from memory here, give a me a little slack.

If a complete roof is needed for the application...have a 93 flip up open air roof collecting dust. It's an original, too, with all attaching hardware.

Hi Ford, either i would have to sand and repaint the black molding on mine, but the car is a 10k mile original car that i want to keep that way. If the roof that you have is in perfect condition including the weatherstrip and i can buy it from you at a resonable price, that might be the way to go. Where do you live, i am in New Jersey. Let me know Thanks Joe

Checked earlier today...have the roof and the weatherstripping. The roof still has the weatherstripping around it. Also have the weatherstripping that attaches to the car.

Browse around. Find out what an original Ford roof sells for these days, including the weatherstripping and make a reasonable offer.

By the way, these parts aren't basking in the sun. They are garage kept pieces.

The seal that attaches to the sunroof glass is shot on mine. Is that just one piece that I can get a replacement for? A local parts dealer has one for $45 but its not for a cobra if that matters.
