Part Number for CD player?

Post by Go Huskers »

Does anyone know if this Part# F48F-18C815-AE will work for the '93 Cobra? I have spoken to my local ford dealer and their books only go back to '95. Any help is appreciated! Thanks!

F3ZF-18C815-AE is the part # on an original '93 Cobra CD deck I have. I would assume that if yours has the right plugs and you have the amp under the passenger's seat, it should work.

Well I have a feeling I am just going to add confusion BUT ... here is mine..

The number on the black rail glide part mounted on the back of the radio is F3ZF - 18888 - AA
The back of the radio is stamped in the metal with the following:

F32F - 18K817 - BF
Date Stamp 11-24-92

The bottom of the radio there is a plate that is riveted into the radio to mount the black bottom holder... it has E7ZF - 19B151 - CA...

I cannot find any other part numbers on the FORD radio assembly.

the cd players are all basickly the same 92-96 f150 trucks , ford tarus, t-birds and more use a cd player that will work , the main difference is the bottom cover with the pocket riveted on it.

I don't believe they came in the trucks. I have NEVER seen one if they did. I'm pretty sure sure the AM/FM cassette was the highest option. I'll have to go look at my original 1994 F-series booklet, :) Taurus yes, very hard to find from what I have found!

Nice! Maybe it was just a lightning thing? Or maybe I am on crack, I will try and confirm.

Looks like that cd player doesn't have the bracket needed....? I can't remember if it is on top or bottom!

Only thing I can see right off the bat different than the one I have is that there is a plug that goes in the upper right corner. Probably some kind of jumper.

your correct , those little plugs are jumpers , they connect the left pind to the right pins. without that plug there will be no sound output, unless you turn turn the volume all the way up, and then you can barely hear it.
