First you say "your friend left 2 messages" then you say " the answering machine only picked up once" so was it once or twice? He says that when he got the message it was too late to go to the meet. So know you should say ok can we make other arrangements? You tell him to try checking his messages more than once a day. Maybe , I am just guessing , he better things to do than set at home checking his messages or waiting for people to call. And you must have been in ahurry or you would just give him a call the next day.
I would
1) ask him if he still has the parts you want
2) make an offer for parts and shipping
3) if he makes the deal great if not , say oh well and look somewhere else
4) not come on here and argue about it, I am sure he really wants to help you now!

why is this so blown out of proportio??? IF YOU DON'T HAVE TIME THAN JUST SAY NO, I would have understood, people do have busy lisfestyles. Furthermore, what I was told by my friend Ray was he called 4-5 times and voicemail only picked up once. Everyone wants to jump all over me, but fail to mention, for one reason or another, that a return phone call was never made to myself or Ray. I understand these were free parts, and as such, I shouldn;t bitch about free parts, so if I offended I apologize.
