Back around 10-12 years ago, there was this middle aged guy on the west side of town, Glendale or Goodyear, don't remember. He bought a black/leather brand new, had the wheels chromed, added some bolt-on stuff including a Vortech B trim, and drove it for a few years.
Then he decided he wanted to go drag racing, and went totally nuts. Stripped it to a bare shell, carbed big block Ford with Glide, 9 inch with spool, Wilwood race brakes, Bogart wheels, gutted interior, etc etc. It was a 9.50 car, all motor.
I bought most of the stock parts from him, the seats and interior he didn't use, the EFI stuff, the T5, engine bay wiring harness (which is in my Ranchero) steering wheel, and so forth. Last I heard, several years ago he got out of shape at 1000 ft, hit the wall, deflected to the other lane, and balled the car up real good. The funny car cage saved him, but the car was scrap after that. So, another one was sacrificed to the 1320.
At least these drag car shells coming up lately are still intact!

Agreed! That 5500 could have been used to purchase a gt and cut It all up for the drag strip instead of ruining what was a red/blk car.ad says e spent close to 5500 on the paint. that was a big waste of money ! and the car. and ruined a car that could of been put back to original.

start a new thread, I'd like to see the build up. I can post pics if you need it or try using photo bucket or one of the free picture sites.aaronlstiles wrote:Yep I Picked up a teal Black cloth car a while back, I have it Stripped out, and am Painting it white with a 408 and six Speed. One of each color for each type of job. Teal - street car, Black - future drag car, Red R - Autocross/open track car (as it was intended).mustangmike wrote:How many of these cars do you have!! Lucky dog! Well more power to ya, at least the one you are using isnt a lower mile car. I'd like to see some pics if you haven't already posted them.
