Fishy in Florida - '87 Cobra

Post by Mike S. »

There is a debate on the Corral as to whether this is a clone on an '87 body, as the ad states, or a real '93 Cobra with a bunch of tacky crap added that's been renumbered. All the real Cobra stuff has been pointed out there, a bunch of it by me. I'd like to look it over but it's too far. I have a feeling it's real, and stolen.

Black 93

It could go either way, I see a-lot of cobra specific paint marks, ie Pink Dots on Strut Cover, to whose of you not awarre, they change caster camber plates in 90, so unless he installed the 93 Shock towers, I would think this is one Hot 93 Cobra, The Fenders however are 87, Notice the Fender extensions how wide they are at the bottom. They also do not look right, they look like cervini Pieces for a 87 to 90. he may have also bought a 93 Cobra at the wreck sale that was parts only and vinned it with a wrecked 87 GT, Still not leagal by any means. I would like to see this one in person, anyone live near by, maybe go check on a Buck tag or a Vin sticker somewher they may have missed? Fishy for sure. Make a Good parts car for a Real 93 that needed fixed

can definitely tell that that car has been in a accident by looking at the paint in d.s. rear quarter

fenders look right 90 and older has less curve in the front . Other things that are not correct for a 1987 but are for a 93, vacuum tee, valve covers, brake line nuts at master cylinder, a/c control and bezel, running horse on dash, pockets on door panels , mass air, strut brackets, seats, speedo, wiper motor cover, opal grey int. . ad says original 87 cobra , original paint, oh and a guy I know had trailer hitch on his 93 cobra , to pull his jet ski.

It sure looks to me like a real 93 in disguise. 87 mustangs didn't have rear shoulder belts, and to put them in it's a real pita b/c you have to mess with the brackets in the back behind the panel.

It does have an 87 -89 tilt steering column.

93

Those are the older Fenders, Look at how wide the fender extensions are, way to wide for a 91 Up fender, Plus Both Fenders have Fresh paint on them under the hood. But I do think it is a real 93 Cobra, and for the price not bad, Hell it would make a great Parts car if anything else. Unless it was still Hot, and had not been recovered. Then I would steer Clear.
