Build# 1494

1993 Ford Mustang Cobra. Number 1494 of 4993 Cobra's built. One of 448 built with black on black exterior/interior. I purchased this Cobra in 2009 from a dealer in Pennsylvania. It had approx. 18k miles when I bought it. I drove it from PA to FL then from FL to CA. I then drove it back and forth from CA to OR before finally landing in WA. For about 2 yrs., the car was a daily driver. I've never had any problems with it and it's a great car. From when I was a kid I always wanted a Cobra but sadly I have to sell it as I have a 1 car garage and just purchased a new truck that needs to be indoors.

Below are the upgrades:

Stage 2 ceramic clutch 10.5 inch

Ford Racing Steel Flywheel

E303 Camshaft with new springs, roller lifters, and retainers

New Ford Racing Water Pump

New SFI 50oz Balancer

Billet 9-way timing chain

Billet adjustable regulator

Maximum Motorsports Strut Tower Brace, panhard bar, cast/camber kit

BBK lowering springs

Bilstein shocks

3:27 gears and rebuilt rear-end

Pro 5.0 shifter and new trans mount

Ford Racing aluminum driveshaft

Bassani shorty headers and catalytic converters (x4)

Ford Motorsport differential cover

Alpine stereo

BBK air intake

Red Top Optima Battery

Upgraded radiator to 3 vs. 2 core (copper) - runs cool

There is probably more that I'm forgetting and can provide a more detailed list if needed as I've upgraded small things over the years. On a scale of 1-10, I'd say the car is probably a 7.5-8. Most recently I had it in at the Ford dealership to replace the rear main seal. It was leaking about 1 drop a week which annoyed me so I fixed it. The paint is probably the worst part of the car. As you can see by the photos, it shines. However, upon closer inspection you will see water spots that ate into the clear. I've been told I can buff them out but I don't want to mess up the clear. The most I've done is clay and wax it a few times. Still looks nice when it's shined up though. Wheels also have a little bit of road rash and probably could be powder coated. I was going to get them dipped in black chrome but I'm just tired of spending money on it.

I paid $18k for it when I bought it, dropped about $10-12k into it over the years, and am not in a rush to sell it. If I have to, I can store it in a storage unit until I can get what I want for it. In another year or so it will be a classic car. I'm also pretty sure that, with a sunroof, there were only so many made that were black on black. I'm assuming at least 50% of the 448 that were built have either been totaled or cut up for the race track.

This car is for sale locally and seller has the ability to end auction early if sold. Feel free to ask questions and thanks for looking.
