Having traveled only 700 miles since it was new, this 1993 Mustang SVT Cobra is one of 4,993 produced in the final year of the original Fox-platform Mustang before the SN-95 Mustangs made their debut for 1994. Originally sold at Hiller Ford in Franklin, Wisconsin, and garage kept since new, the original window sticker and two sets of keys are still with the car. Whereas the Mustang GT had a reputation for a ride that could slowly remove the fillings from your teeth, Ford and the new SVT team that developed the Cobra, went the other way—they softened the ride of the Cobra, lending it a much more comfortable demeanor around town and along the highway, but used thicker-diameter sway bars to enhance cornering stability. While the brutish 5.0L V-8 was a capable engine to begin with, SVT upgraded it in numerous ways, namely with cast-iron, high-flow GT40 cylinder heads that helped it produce 235 HP and a whopping 280 lb-ft of torque. Lending to exclusivity and racy durability, Cobras received Borg-Warner T-5 5-speed manual transmissions. SVT also gave the Mustang a mild restyling with a new rear wing, tail-light treatments, grille opening, side skirts and very unique 17-inch unidirectional wheels housing 4-wheel disc brakes. This Cobra features the optional flip-up open-air moonroof, 4-way power driver’s seat, leather upholstery, remote-control mirrors, air conditioning, Traction-Lok rear axle, rear-window defroster, premium cassette stereo system, tinted glass and owner’s manual, and it is one of 1,854 black Cobras built in 1993. Cared for by a Mustang enthusiast for several decades, the car boasts Black paint and interior, as well as acute details such as original belts, hoses and valve-cover sticker. The oil has been drained and refilled three times over the past two decades, yet the original oil filter is still in place. When was the last time you came across a ’93 SVT Cobra with only 700 actual miles?

Wow

I think if interest rates went back up people would be putting there money else where again to get a good return instead of driving the prices up of cars and houses.
One day the bubble will burst again.

I hope that buyer plans to keep his new toy for awhile. Maybe he'll see a return on that investment when the car is 50 years old.

here is something to think about, I bought a 69 boss 302 in 2001 for about 30K (boss 9s were going for around 55-60k at the time, kick my self for not getting one of those) I have the original sticker on the B2 and it was listed for 3465.00. In 2001 the car was about 32 year old but the price on the car was nearly 9 times its original value and well we know what a nice boss 302 is going for now (30 maybe 35 times is value if its a real nice restored or original car) Now think about foxes, they are almost 25years old very soon they will hit the 30 year mark. Can we say that even the nicest and cleanest or best restored foxes could bring even 8 or 9 times their original value. Is it that perhaps they are still way underpriced? even a factory sc saleen can be had in the mid 40s right now, thats about maybe 2 times the original value,, the only fox I know that has really skyrocketed in price and might be able to make the 8-9 times the value is the SA10 saleen which I almost bought 10 years ago also (don't even get me started on that story) even a the best cobra R with no miles can be had for about 70K thats what 3 times the original value? something to thing about......

Interesting post 69boss. And there are a bunch of guys between ages 35-50 that grew up wanting these cars, now are at a point in life where they have a few bucks saved, have the garage, etc.

I have a teal Cobra now at 1900 miles, was thinking about auctioning it at Harrisburg this summer...now am strongly considering it :)

Any of you guys have experience with Mecum? Is it on the seller to get the car sent there or do they arrange transport as part of their fee?
