For the final year of the Foxbody Mustang in 1993, Ford decided it was about time they let their Special Vehicles Team (SVT) get a hold of the car for one last hurrah! For this limited production version, Ford outfitted the 302 V8 with the legendary 'GT40' heads, 'GT40' aluminum intake manifold, upgraded camshafts, upgraded brakes, sway bars, and other visual add-ons. The production of the SVT Cobra was only extended to 4,993 units. Three colors were available--Red, Black, and Teal. Of those 4,993 made, just 1,854 were Black, and of those, only 327 had grey cloth interior. This car is the second rarest configuration of the 1993 SVT Cobra. The car has had several owners, but has retained low mileage at just over 82,000. This example has not had any major modifications, the only non-stock addition was a full exhaust system and an aftermarket head unit (stereo). Catalytic converters have been retained, and the car is just barely louder than stock with a slight bassy bellow. The last owner had the car repainted in the factory Ford black just about a year ago at a professional auto body shop here in Asheville, NC. The wheels have been refinished as well. Cosmetically, this car is a knock out--underneath, under the hood and the interior all show minimal signs of wear, particularly for the mileage. Clean examples like this are few and far between. The Foxbody Mustang market is taking off right now, and will continue to rise in value for years to come.
