Yes we did talk about buying it back. He will be calling me back hopefully today with the figure and whether I'm interested in buying it back. since I've never dealt with this before what would be a good price for me to buy it back for? I don't want to buy it if the number is too high but I do want the car back, I might just fix it and save it for my son I'm not sure if I want to deal with parting it out.

I would think you could buy it back for less than a grand, or thereabouts.

You might need a few pieces for the next ride also, buy backs are generally pretty cheap.

That sucks man. Sorry to hear about the bad luck. This same exact thing almost happenend to me about two weeks ago while cruising my 91 coupe. I saw a Tahoe approaching me at a fairly high speed in my rearview while I was stopped in traffic. I knew it was approaching way too fast to stop in time. Its funny it never crossed my mind that I could get hurt, the only thing I thought to myself is someone is about to total my coupe. I looked for a place to go forward but there was nothing and I didn't have enough time anyway. I said well here it is, this is really going to happen, so I just held on tight and awaited the impact. All of this happened in about 2-3 seconds but it felt longer than that. The last time I looked in the mirror I remember hearing the brakes squeal on the Tahoe and seeing the front end drop and roll to one side. She saw me just in time and slid/steered past me on the right side and actually stopped a car length or so ahead of me on the side of the road. Scared the hell out of me. I think it scared her even more though. Funny thing is she followed me all the way home to apologize and it turned out to be a friend of mines wife.

You got lucky, I wasn't even the first person hit, and the lady who did the job must have been texting or something like that, cause there was no sign of any brakes being applied. I'm glad your coupe didn't get hurt, I just might be getting a coupe myself, not sure yet if another cobra is in the works or a coupe that I can do up.

Ya, I see it all the time.

If people would stay off their GD cellphones yammering (go hands free for Christ's sake) and texting every 5 minutes of their life, the roads would be a bit safer. It amazes me to see these idiots texting away at 80mph with kids strapped in the back, oblivious to thier surroundings.

Me steps off my soapbox now.

buddha I was that guy, constantly texting when I drive even with my son with me, but since this I wont answer anything or text, it's not worth it. If she was texting and I lost my car cause of that I would be pissed,

That's exactly what she was doing. She admitted to me that she had looked down just for a second to check her phone and when she looked back up there I sat. She was mad at herself because she said this is the very thing that she preaches to her teenage kids-NO messing with the phone or texting while driving, and then she is guilty of doing that very thing herself. It only takes a second or two to really screw up. Glad to hear your OK.

Awesome, good for you.

Before you start scrapping the car, make sure you don't want to make it whole again at some point in it's life.

Buddha I don't plan on rebuilding it and am not 100% sure if I want to part it out, I wanted the car because it was so cheap to buy back and I don't want it going to just any old yard for scrap, maybe I'll hang on to it for a little while or sell it to someone on here preferably who might want to either put it back together or part it out, I'm not really sure yet
