Why did they turn it into an "R" clone???

I've heard they changed it to a 92 R prototype. There is one documented 92 R prototype that is black and this one was supposedly was to be more a production R proto, but I have no proof of that just what I have talked with some higher ups about. KarKraft has always been involved in Ford developmental cars back when they were in business they always had rare and one off Ford parts. The car was supposed to be scrapped but slid thru the cracks. All that I can for a fact proove is that it is one of two 92 Cobra prototypes and It is the car that was used in most of the magazine testing back in the day. If it is in a mag and has black interior it is this car. Usually you can tell by the gray valve covers and the Emissions exempt sticker on the fan shroud. There were 2 92 Cobra prototypes mine and then one with gray leather. Both have consecutive vin #'s. and were pulled off the line as vibrant red GT's then sent to SVT and changed to 93 Cobras. Not even sure if the other one still exist.

Honestly it was a barn find. Bought without knowing what it was no paperwork or anything to prove what it was. I was told it was a Cobra R then when I went and looked at it I quickly told the guy it wasnt even a Cobra just a clone. Bought it planning on doing a Cobra drag car out of it. Then got to talking around and started finding out slowly more and more about it but still had no solid proof other than the buck tag saying functional test unit, untill the Marti reports cam out and confirmed it all. So really got lucky more than anything. I always had my suspisions tho because the other prototype vin is consecutive with this one.

I didnt think that one was a prototype I thought it was a body in white that CarCraft Magazine turned into the 200mph Cobra. I have the vins on both prototypes. See if you can dig up the vin on the white one and we'll see if they are close but I could have sworn it was a body in white.

Very cool speed, #15 is getting tri-bars for sure!

Here is one tide not tri bars but still you get the idea of the color sceme on teal. I still havent found pics of my teal 93 with the tri bars.
