75?!? Quite a large number. Do you work for a dealer?plumcrazysrt wrote:I never did understand the attraction to the notches. I know people love them and they are still pretty desireable, but I don't see it. I've owned nearly 75 Mustangs and never had a notch.
As for the attraction to the notch style ... back in the day, they were considered the ultimate "sleeper" Mustang. They had all the GT's engine & suspension upgrades w/o the added weight of the ground effects, etc. In addition to being the lightest platform, the notch body was much tighter than the hatch. It was also the least expensive way to get a 5.0 equipped car. Lastly, there were far fewer notches than hatches, and we all know the attractiveness of owning a rare Mustang.

Good points on the notch, Z. And no, I've never been a dealer but during the 90's and early 00's I went through a huge amount of vehicles one at a time just buying, driving for a bit, then selling. Mostly Mustangs, but the occassional 911, BMW, or Vette if they were cheap enough. The pre-internet days were great just going through the local papers and Auto Trader magazines.

Will thanks again for posting up the pics.. Yes the coupe has 120k on the clock but it's kinda got a cool story with it and hell it was a Ford Test Car...they had it for 3+ years...sold it in 1996 with just 1,300 miles on the clock..kinda cool.. Now were just trying to figure out what type of testing it was used for..
