Not to mention the car just simply isn't worth that. Don't get me wrong, it's an excellent build. But for $45k, you can farm out a lot of the work and build it for that price.1993cobra wrote:It wouldn't be so bad but everyone knows what you sold it for, Arron. The internet is a small world. Pretty much any potential buyer buyer will read all about it on this site or svtp.
My guess is he's not really serious about selling it, but would let it go for that price. Hell, my cars aren't for sale, but if someone wanted to pay my twice what the market is bringing, I'd sure as hell consider it.

I agree. love the car, but not worth 45K. maybe $30K but thats pushing it. if it had all the original stuff like aaron had it, and with the supercharger it would be worth $30K for sure.buddha wrote:Not to mention the car just simply isn't worth that. So That is right at 34K, which is about what I sold the car for, This price includes NO LABOR expense as I did the car all myself. No if you can get somebody to do it for free, I guess you could built it for 35K.
No prices on 03', and 93 Havent gotten any cheaper, to find a nice roller, 93, Id say at least 6 to 7K, and a Nice 20K mile mystic car, they are still in the 14K range, possibly higher. Don't forget I painted the bottom of the car mystic as well, just doing that at a paint should would cost you at least $5000 for paint and labor.
Since when is the value of a modded Cobra based on the cost of the parts put into it? 45K is clearly a ridiculous asking price, but even 34K seems a bit much considering what you could also get for that amount.
Granted this Cobra is a totally unique and very well done modded car, but most modded Cobras don't seem to hold their values nearly as well as bone-stock examples.
I certainly wish they did. I have over $12K in mods to my Cobra, not counting labor costs, and it is a near-mint example with 46K miles. Figuring $13K for a very clean, well-maintained 46K Cobra with $12K in additional parts, I doubt I could sell it for anywhere close to $25K.

The point was, he said it could be built for less money, not that it was worth what I had in the car, I did sell it for what I had in the car, and it has sold for over 30K more than once. 3 Times actually,
I have owned at least 50, 93 Cobras, maybe more I lost count, so I am aware of the 93 Cobra Value and market.

What I was trying to say, is when I go looking for a car like this, I want to pay less then what it would cost me to do it myself. That goes for just about anything, not just cars.
