761 trim repaint

Post by 93N8 »

Image

Redid the windsheild trim, mirrors, cowl, and wipers. I'm ready for the weather to break! Still gotta do the rear window trim and door handles. Started to do the rear but got frustrated so ill wait til it's warmer

Did you take the trim off? If so did you use that trim tool?

Ya I took it off. I bought the tool from harbour freight! I was very nervous cuz I usually screw up the trim. But once I started and looked at the clips I understood way better. It was actually easier to put it back on than taking it off.

Sometimes the tool is too big to get the clips, my buddy shaved his down a little more worked a whole lot better.

Did he use the one from harbour freight or like the one at LMR? I watched a you tube video from LMR and theirs was different and they made it look real easy. My problem with the back window is that the silicone or whatever they use to hold the glass is sticking up way above the glass so I have to pry the trim real hard and high to get over the silicone and under the trim. It feels like I'm gonna bend the trim.

Nice job on the window trim. BTW, your avatar looks like the Cobra is in front of a funhouse mirror. :D

Not for sure where he got his tool at, he has been in body work for years. Yea the black widow adhesive is pain to deal with, glad they didn't hold back on gluing the window in HUH?

Lmao!! Yes it does look like fun house! You shoulda seen it before. The avatar pic went across the whole screen. It was huge! I decided for the back trim I'm just gonna pop a xanex so that way ill be relaxed and take my time and if I do screw it up.. Hopefully I won't get pissed and break something else. Lol
