Taking delivery of my 93 Cobra from Kurgan Motorsports

Post by Neoex »

After a long build process, I took delivery of my Turbo 93 cobra. The car made 725rwhp at 23 psi of boost. I wanted to keep the car as stock looking inside and out. This is about a month old, I did run into some transmission problems so I didnt get to keep it very long, but it was fairly stout :) I know there is more of a "keep it factory" crowd on this board, so go easy on me :), I bought the car modified, it just needed alot of help and adjustment.

That thing sounds nasty!!!! I would love to see some under hood pics. Did they have to do any cutting in the engine bay for the turbo setup?

yeah I have a walk around video it shows under the hood, when I bought the car it had a turbo kit on it, so there was some cutting on the engine bay ever, so slight, they did have to trim a LITTLE bit of the bumper support to get all the stuff to fit because I wanted to keep the AC, so its like a huge sandwhich of Fan(Pusher) ->Transmission Cooler -> Condenser -> Radiator -> Fan(Puller)

Just uploaded it

Thanks, just had Freddy Brown go through my AOD to the tune of another $2900, but you cannot knock what the guy can achieve with an AOD. Its currently getting bolted back in (tomorrow) and then I am having Bob(Kurgan) add a tune for E70, because my local E85 stations are carrying 1 or the other depending on whichever way the wind blows /sigh :spank: so I want to be able to test it and set my tune accordingly

I know not of what you speak. (See sig)

I think the car is friggin' awesome. If Kurgan and crew got a hold of it, I'm sure it's a solid build.

So what did he tune with? SCT chip/MAF with stock EEC? What about the rear suspension? Got the goods to get the power to the ground?

I wanted to send it to the best, so I shipped it from Tulsa to Georgia to have bob and team work on it. Electronics wise it has a Sequential FAST, setup with a Innovator West crank trigger setup, has 160 lb fuel injectors, huge magna fuel pump with sleeper tank. It has Maximum Motorsports adjustable suspension pieces, and on the 17" nittos I was EXTREMELY impressed (im a MT fan) how well it hooked, I didnt get to put many miles on it (pushed the front tranny seal out). But I was expecting it to really be wild even in 3rd gear, and it planted the power and took off like I never would of thought. I did have it on the low boost setting of 16lbs not 23, so I could acclimate myself, so figure it was making around 600-640 at that boost setting.

My other car is AWD and you hit it in any gear it just hooks and goes. a 93 cobra isnt exactly as traction friendly :) The car doesnt have cage or necessary safety equip for the drags so it will just be a street terror, in the time I did drive it I could NOT believe the drive-ability, it was BETTER than a stock car. Bob Kurgan really knows these vehicles tunes better than anyone. I was very impressed with the tune. Now if I could get the AOD to hold ill be set! (which after Freddy brown got done with it) It should be fine to 950rwhp

What kind of power does that novi2k put down?

Last time on the dyno @ 13.5 psi, it made right at 550 to the tires. I've since upped the boost, and added a little meth to the mix for good measure, but haven't had it back to the dyno since. Best guess would put it the neighborhood of 625 to the tires.

Got any pics/vids of your Lambo?

As far as driving it(not sure which your asking about):
Cobra:
Car made 708rwhp on the new FB AOD, with e70 tune. Decided I wasnt happy and upgraded the turbonetics 76mm, to a PT 7675 CEA Billet wheel, Hoping for an additional 100hp from the turbo upgrade. Also added a remote controlled exhaust dump at the downpipe, Bob said he wouldnt be surprised if the exhaust cutout provides an additional 35-50rwhp. Also had the rear-end gone through. apparently everything was stock, so put some strange axels and beefed everything up along with a fresh set of 3:27 FMS gears. Dyno time is schedule for 7/2 9:00AM for retune with the newer beast turbo and exhaust cutout. Hoping for between 800-850 on the wheels. Which through an AOD, and some Twisted Wedge 185 heads is doing pretty damn good.

Lambo
Yes any afternoons/weekends its nice I drive ehe shit out of it and it NEVER misses a beat.
