Fantastic pic!

Although I'm glad Ford based the Mustang on a horse rather than the P-51 because a plane sure would have looked funny in the grille all these years! ;)

Hey Z28, read up on the Mustang history a little more. The Car was named after the P-51 Mustang Fighter and not the horse, LOL. Truly. I see another favorite aircraft there in the photo as well, the old P-40 Warhawk. As an A&P aircraft mechanic I have worked on 2 P-51's and a P-40. I love them.

Hate to burst your bubble, Georgia. There's conflicting stories out there about how the Mustang got its name. However, its very clear about which "Mustang" has been on the car for the last 50 years.

Even your '92 LX/GT/Cobra has a horse on the dash, no? ;)

Interesting article that was linked. So it seems we are all right on some level, LOL. I have quite a collection of books and so forth as reference material on where the name comes from and I was basing my opinion on what I have read in the books that are in my collection. So here is to all our Mustang cars, whatever model and body type they may be, and to the great P-51 Mustang that helped us win World War 2 and to become such a competitive racing aircraft after that war, and finally also to that majestic wild horse, though not in the great numbers of our country's history, does continue to roam in herds on our plains. I for one Salute all three.
