Grinding in 5th
Driving back from so cal last night and everytime I shifted to 5th I get a little grind. If I double clutch it everything slides right in no problem. I am thinking syncro's but a friend mentioned maybe a bent clutch fork. Figured I'd see what the consensus is here...

Re: Grinding in 5th
A fifth sycro would be very, very odd. The norm is 3rd. Not saying it couldn't be, but not the usual suspect. Either way, sounds like it needs to come out.jstanley55 wrote:Driving back from so cal last night and everytime I shifted to 5th I get a little grind. Original or aftermarket clutch? What about the self adjuster, or the adjustment of the clutch?

Funny I was already thinking I need to call your uncle on Monday and get a quote if I bring him the tranny. It's been loud for a while so I figure a it's time for a good rebuild.RollTide93 wrote:I know of a quality tranny shop, Ha!jstanley55 wrote:Driving back from so cal last night and everytime I shifted to 5th I get a little grind. I wouldn't think so, but I would be checking everything before tearing it out.WillyB93 wrote:Original or aftermarket clutch? What about the self adjuster, or the adjustment of the clutch?

I talked to my uncle so if you do decide to go that route he knows you might be stopping byjstanley55 wrote:Funny I was already thinking I need to call your uncle on Monday and get a quote if I bring him the tranny.
