94 Cobra collect ability

Post by JohnLynch »

Anyone think these will catch on? There are some nice ones out there but even though they are one year newer than our cars their market is null and void.

They will eventually first of a new style car and last years of the 5.0 I've saw several pace cars and a nice red tan coupe I thought about buying to put back. They are still cheap and as cheap as they are going to be IMO.

That's a tough call. I can say this - of all the repro window stickers I do, 94-95 is close to the least asked for versions. Second least asked versions are the 97-99 models.

I have easily done quadruple the number of terminator cars vs the 94-95 SN95 cars. Maybe even more than that.

Will they be "collectible?" Yes, they are a V8 Mustang, but they will always trail behind the models on each side 79-93 and 99-04). Specialty Mustangs in the 94-98 group will fare better.

A friend and I were talking about this the other day. The '94-'95's will become/are collectible. I do however feel sorry for anyone having to track down parts for them. Being they were only built for two years, many of the engine parts, rear wing, etc are specific to those years.

I agree with you all. I feel since they made over 10k 03 Cobras I don't see a shortage of them. But for 94, first year of the new body style and last year of the 5.0 it might. I just think the bodystyle is a non- compete against a 93 cobra. The 94 is a bit flat. I will say ford drummed up a huge amount of hype in 94 and I wanted one bad. I was willing to settle for a Gt. They did a good job in 94 bringing back appearances from the 64.

Its interesting though as they are 23 years old and you can pick up one with under 20k miles for $12k.

Of the different Mustang generations, it seems the 94-98 models are the second least desirable of the bunch. With the least desirable (for good reason) being the 74-78 models.

It was because the 1996 model was the first year of the modular 4.6 engine in the mustang.

Well look at 95r vs 93 and 00. The 95r is a great car, light and a 351, fun to drive. Next would be the pace cars, and maybe the mystic. While not directly a ford, saleen did some good stuff with their S351's.

YES! The 95 R looks like any old white Mustang from that era. You have to be close to it and be an enthusiast to really know what you are looking at. The 00R is the opposite end of the spectrum. It is not subtle.
