power windows & door locks wont work when door is closed

Any idea what the problem is.

where should i check.

The car has a alarm but it does not work the windows or doors. the alarm was not working then one day it started working.

the windows & door locks were working fine then all of a sudden they stop going up or down when the drivers side door is closed.

the pass door works the same way. only if the drivers side door is open.

Sounds like a short to ground to me. Check the wiring in the lower A-pillar

i would get rid of any aftermarket alarm to begin with
