The bigger the size, the more current can go through the wire. Just like in house's, that why they have to follow codes which determine load on the wires.

If your using stock ignition and coil. Just use the 8mm. Not familiar with you set up. But if u r putting on a msd ignition and coil or going to use a blower. then Go with the larger ones then
