Fuel Pump

Post by svt2205 »

What's the correct fuel pump for a 93 Cobra?

Mine is making a lot of noise and I can hear it going faster and slower with the car just sitting at idle. It never used to do this, so I'm thinking it's probably time for a new pump.

Thanks
Henry

They came from Ford with a 95 LPH pump, same as the '94-'95 GT. The bracket is a little different, but the pump is interchangeable. If you go with a larger pump, like the Motorsport/FRPP 190 LPH, it will run the same, and my 190 was actually quieter than the original one.

They tend to get noisey as they age but that doesnt mean they are bad.

Just keep it till it dies, then change it out.

Sounds like I don't need to worry about it.

Thanks for the feedback

So what is the actual part#? Also the fuel filter. I think I will be doing this soon.

Fuel filter part# FG-800
Not sure of the fuel pump part #.
It's the same pump used in 1986 and later Mustang H.O. models.

I had mine replaced when the original failed about 10 years ago... the Ford replacement has always had a bit of a whine, but it has never failed. The whine hasn't changed a bit either. It is just somewhat of a noisy pump.
