Hi, welcome to the forum.

If it has sat for a long period of time, I would suggest some fresh fuel, fuel filter, and a tune up. You could also run some injector cleaner through a couple tanks of gas.

Also pull the codes from the eec.

Mine did the same thing after sitting for a while. I cleaned the Mass air sensor wire (it was a little dirty) and the problem went away. You might take a look at that.

Mine did the same thing like you and cgoeschel are syaing, only above 5,000 rpm's.

I leaned the MAF sensor and it went away.

I would check fuel pressure at the shrader valve, should be around 40psi after cranking the key to on a few times, could be a stuck fuel pressure regulator. I wouldn't be surprised if it was an injector acting up either, they don't like sitting for long periods of time but usually clear up before long with new fuel.
