Thinking about getting one, which one do you all suggest????? And which brand????? And one more thing if you all have one already, did you notice much gain or is it just a sound thing??

I have a BBK h-pipe and didnt notice to much of a gain.

You need to remember its a complete exhaust system that will show you a gain.

If the decision is made for the H-pipe some help may be close. A COMPLETE 5.0 exhaust is in the upstairs garage. Read, complete, exhaust, from headers all the way back to stainless steel tailpipes including all hardware down to the flowtubes. 1 5/8" headers, 2 1/2" h-pipe and 2 1/2" catback.

I was thinking on getting one for better flow. I have the Magnaflow cat-back right now. So, I should go with headers and an H-pipe then??? Another mod I was thinking of doing would be gears. 373's would be the biggest I would go. What headers do you all have????

I've found after years of use 3.55's are a great set for these cars. Back in the day I found them to work well either at the dragway or the road course. 3.73's might have helped a little in the quarter. But you can't go wrong with the 55's....

As for exhaust. Also back in the day, I ran FMS shorties, 2.5" H pipe and 2.5" Flowmaster 2 chambers. Exhaust sounded great, but the drone grew too annoying.

FWIW, the combo of exhaust and gears gave me 241 RWHP. A buddy also with a 93 Cobra was within 1 hp with a hiflow catted H-pipe, 3.55's and C&L 75mm (or something close to that) throttle body.

Hope this helps

Thanks for the info. That helps alot. 241 rwhp is not bad for the mods listed. Maybe heads and cams will wake this up.

Does it matter what x-pipe to go with between UPR, bassani, mac, or bbk?

Also, on a sidenote, I am sure that you realize that gears do not make more horsepower, however they do multiply torque and help the car rev faster.

Yes, I know that. I have even seen a loss of hp on a dynojet with installation of gears. Do you have any input about the x-pipe manufacters? Thanks in advance.

I can get a used one on Ebay from a guy local to me, for 150. It has around 2000 miles on it, looks new and came off a 93 cobra also. I am trying to get his #'s from him so I can get it in the registry.
