I have been driving trucks for the last 8 or 9 years, and just got another car (93 Cobra). When I wash my trucks, I use a pressure washer on the engine and running gear. There seems to be alot of "stuff" under the hood of my Cobra. My question is do any of your guys use spray engine cleaner and a pressure washer on your Cobras? If I decide to use the pressure washer, is there anything I need to cover up or watch out for? Thanks...

Personally, I have never had a problem with the way I wash my engines. I spray the entire motor down with Gunk foamy engine brite and let it sit for about 5 minutes, high pressure wash it off, then I use oil eater and let it sit for another 5 minutes and then hose it off again. I have never covered anything, I just try not to SOAK the coil, plugwires etc. If you do have a problem then that means you have a leak/ open something.

Just replace the old OEM one with a new fresh looking one.CobraStrike93 wrote:I used the car wash on my engine bay and it did flake the name plate, I was so upset and I refuse to change it because it is the original, so I would say not to use it.

Re: More Questions
I always have used a pressure washer on my vehicles. Never had a problem with them. Just use common sense and dont over do it on a certain area or a possible problem area for too long or at too close of a range.big frank wrote:I have been driving trucks for the last 8 or 9 years, and just got another car (93 Cobra). I have heard to not spray the cobra name plate any harsh chems cause it will ruin it...but I use a mild General Purpose cleaner and have had no problem...good luck!
