Security

Post by Fox9350 »

Do you guys have alarm system, use a club or do anything else to secure your cobra? How many of you avoid leaving it anywhere and mostly just use it to cruise and go back to your garage with? What I mean is would you be comfortable leaving it in mall parking lot or your office lot all day? Insurance can't replace these cars.

I also use a steering wheel cap with 'the Club' when she's stored.

Its kinda like... Would you leave your super model hot wife, overnight in an all male prison?

I don't like leaving the Cobra out for more than 15 minutes in a parking lot... Let alone for hours.

yeah DB... some of us do!
Mine has an alarm, but I rarely leave it unattended when I take it out. I almost got into a fight with some drunk one night when I caught him leaning on my car. I don't even like people touching it! Too many idiots out there with no respect for other peoples property. I worry more about damage (dents and scratches) than I do theft.

Lol I got ya! Do any of you have alarms? Also the insurance company must seriously undervalue these cars. Assuming they go by the book if you suffer a theft or significant damage you're screwed.

I have classic car insurance with an 'agreed value' policy. God forbid something were to happen to it, I'm insured for it's true value.

X2. It's by far the best way to insure these cars.

I got a factory ford aftermarket alarm back in 93.

I too worry more about touching the car. Theft, not as much. But I have the insurance with underwrite up at 20k.

Haha, I'm 34 and married. I'm guessing from this question you think I'm 18 or something. I had a 93 GT (avatar pic) back at the end of high school and into college then sold it. Regretted it to this day. I'm a huge fox mustang fan. I'm a bit OCD when I get an idea in my head and the idea right now is getting a 1993 cobra to satisfy my urge to own a fox again. Trouble is I can't justify it yet, so I'm passing my time looking at the classified posted every few days and asking questions etc here. I'm looking at a 2 to 5 year window of being able to shop for one, assuming life doesn't throw any nasty curveballs.

Good to know about the alternate insurance.

I've thought about getting that one anti theft device that looks like a pin plug, the female end is installed on the car, and u keep the male end on you, before you crank the car you must "plug" in the device before start up, what's the name of that device? Expensive too BTW
