Money burning a hole in my pocket

Hey.. got the cash and I've been looking for just the right 93 Cobra but I just haven't had it happen yet.. Seems like all the cars available to my knowledge are 600+ miles away from me.. I really don't want to go over 12K but that is dependent upon the vehicle. I'm looking for a well kept driver because I plan on enjoying the car and doing some local shows and cruise nights. Mods don't bother me but it needs functioning AC and the paint needs to be in decent shape with no rust on the body. Seems like the midwest is not supplying me what I'm looking for. Any suggestions for helping with my quest. color doesn't mean anything to me however i prefer cloth seats

It's probably a few hundred miles from ya. But close to your budget, and would make a nice driver.
Other then that, I believe you can find the right car for you within your budget. I did....You may just have to be patient for the right one to pop up and possibly make that long distance transaction. The one I listed above from what I remember from a few years ago is very nice clean driver with original paint in great shape and interior is in decent condition also for the miles.

^^^
What's so "brutal" in letting someone know that $12K will likely not get him the kind of Cobra he's looking for and wishing him luck in his search?

How about actually helping him out? Like Brett comments.

Being a long-time member who has provided Cobra and Mustang info in response to numerous posts over the past couple of years, my seconding a comment about needing more than 12K to find a decent car is actually helping him out IMO. What Brett did was certainly helpful as well. Although in my experience, when one posts a thread like this, they've already checked the "Cobras for Sale" and "Members Cars for Sale" sections and are looking for a lead not already on the website.

Ok I'll chime in, $12k... You might get a 93 with an engine. But be prepared to dump $8-10k to make it show worthy...
Maybe a 93 cobra with over 100k miles and needs paint, etc...

It's still a little early for midwest cars to actually come up for sale, plus like some of the other guys stated might need to step the budget up a little. I'm in the midwest also, I will keep an eye out for you also. Where are you searching for cars for sale?

And VA93SVT - You really helped him out, huh?
Give it a few months and you will see some Cobras pop up in that price range, you should be able to find a nice driver for $12k.

It's really about finding the right car at the right time and pouncing on it. If you have a tight budget, you may have to travel for that "right" car. If you have access to a trailer it really isn't very expensive to go get one several states away. But, I believe you can find one in the mid-west around spring time.
Good luck....
