I want an EZ clutch!

When I bought my Cobra it had a stiff clutch. I had a center force laying around. I have one in my '98 that I love but it also has a fidanza flywheel and cost a lot. Had the center force installed w whatever fly was in it. Still stiff. Bought an Exedy stage one which was advertised as being "stock like". It SUCKS! Clutch chatter and still stiff after 1500 miles. I just want an EZ clutch!!! I'm not planning on racing or any power adders on this one. I want to be able to drive in stop and go LA traffic without my left leg falling off! And not paying tons of $ like I did with the '98....Never drove one of these cars w a stock clutch. How is the pedal effort on the stock one? Is it available? I've had a king cobra...want lighter than that. Help a brother out, lol....

Have you changed the clutch cable or the adjuster while changing all the clutch's?

My stock clutch is not too bad on effort. The stiffest clutch I have is my Terminator. It will destroy your leg in stop-n-go traffic.

As for light... Nothing beats the hydraulic assist of my GT500.

Of course none of that helps your situation. Just giving a referance to compare. If you aren't adding power, consider an OEM replacement if they are still available.

X3 on the OEM specific '93 Cobra replacement. Almost Honda Civic easy effort. Mine still has the original. Make sure your cable is still good, they can look good but be worn on the inside which causes binding and increased effort. Remove the flywheel and take it to a good machine shop so they can make sure it's true, and skim it if necessary. If it's already been turned, replace it. Address all of this, and stop and go traffic will be a breeze.

Yes. A MM firewall adjuster and cable went in with the Exedy clutch. Should the adjuster be any help with the chatter and/or stiffness?

This. Can't beat an OEM clutch for a sweet pedal feel. When my '85GT needed a new clutch a few years ago, I went with a 'Valeo' (OEM) clutch & am extremely satisfied with it's performance & feel.

I used to think that, too. Not anymore.

I had an adjustable quadrant on my red car, adjusted wrong, the clutch was like a brick. Reset it in a different setting and helped it.
