1993 Cobra Registry

Just wondering...if two cars were built on the same exact day (as detailed in the registry) and both had consecutive SVT build numbers (say car 1224 and car 1225) does that mean that they came down the line together one in front of the other? Anyone have any inside info on how DAP worked back in the day?

Not necessarily. The '93 Cobras were built on the same Dearborn assembly line as the rest of the Mustangs that year and it's possible that two sequentially numbered Cobras were built with other Mustang models in between them. However, all '93 Cobras (including the Rs) were routed through "loops" off the main assembly line so the cars could undergo further inspection to verify build configuration, etc. Some more Cobra trivia ... during assembly, a paint-can lid marked "Cobra" was hung from the hood-latch support bracket to help the assembly-line workers distinguish the Cobras from other Mustangs as they came down the line.
