Just take it to a mexi melt tire place, I'm sure they can take em off for a couple pesos

I have seen it done, but the down fall will be it may not adhere to the edges as well since you can't really get the portion cleaned well. You might try it just use a adhesion promoter. My buddy's body shop uses this stuff: http://www.autobodytoolmart.com/klean-s ... Mgod8C4Adw

I've done many Pony wheels both ways. As long as you sand the edge should be ok..I've never had any problems ether way. Just make sure your tire guy knows its fresh paint or his tool will f it up everytime.

Don't do it man. Just wait and have the tires pulled. Even wait until its time for tires. I can't imagine the paint and clear would stick well enough around the lip of the tire. Plus if it doesn't how pissed will you be? All that work down the drain. And I would have them blasted too.
I'll post some pics of mine soon. Had them blasted, fixed the little rash, primed with self etching primer and two have paint so far. Still need to paint the other two and clear them all but so far so good.
Progress so far... wish I took some shots prior to sand blasting but oh well. Like I said above, still need to base coat two and clear them all. Hoping to have time this weekend.
