HELLO from #392-- new pics added 6-26-09= Chrome OEM wheels

Post by kbillan »

I am 99% sure SVT said 392 when i ordered the new certificate.

105k miles as of now-- and im in love.

It currently has 3.73 rear end, a possible Tremec T5, still investigating, X pipe, it was lowered, but i think im liking that.. and a BBK cold air intake.

I have a lead on a stock airbox, and hopefully will be putting that in today- and ebaying the BBK stuff.

All VINS match!

Very nice. I have #1367, teal/Gray leather, 23k miles, all stock and possibly a Tremec as well.

Whenever youre ready to sell the BBK stuff, hit me up first. I have a 90 SSP notch which has older rusted BBK stuff I'd like to replace.

It is a good stance, isnt it? At first i wasnt overly interested in keeping the drop.. but it is not like.. "pimp my ride" dropped.. its like.. where it should be. If anything, the rear needs to drop another 1/4"..

PapaTom YGM, and why do you say "possibly a tremec"? Is there no way to tell? I am going to be playing with it today-- wash/wax... good rubbin.. might go poking around under there again.. dont know.. If there is anything i can specifically look for- uhm, let me know!

Dont know? How can I tell, will they just be black? It has a front camber kit- which unfortunately- ill have to keep with the drop.

I just replaced the drivers side door hing pins/bushings. That was fun

And I located the stock airbox/tube I wanted. I dont have time to put that on today though. The door took all of my allotted time today. Oh well.

Tomorrow im going to wash and wax it.. give it a really good cleaning..

My SVT documentation arrived today- it is indeed #392. I also scored an owners manual/kit out of a friends 93 parts car! Sheesh.. i almost paid 50.00 for that on ebay... phew..

All washed and waxed.

I think from now on when i buy a car, i am going to wash and wax it while im looking at it. You learn a LOT about a car this way. Thats not necessarily a good thing :(

but i still love it-- even if I do want the whole thing resprayed..

It's going to be worth more with that original paint even if it's flawed. If you wanted a show car you should have bought a under 30k mile car.

Learn to live with the flaws, with 100k on the clock that's what happens. There's lots of flaws (up close) with mine, but thats how I can justify driving the it everywhere in the summer. And drag racing it! Let the old guys have their show cars that never get driven, and I can enjoy looking at those mint cars, too!

About the struts, I can't rememeber. I think the rear shocks say motorcraft on them but the fronts say tokico. But if they are black and dirty with big dust shields that's probably the stock ones. I was asking about the shocks/struts to see how the ride is.

I lowered my car and still have stock struts and I hear that if I change them it'll make a world of difference.

Thats what i meant by not in a good way== this car has been repainted. The paint it self is nice-- it has some scars... but nothing i would repaint a car over...

BUT-- the passenger door has a project in it... the molding has been re-cleared i think.. and it is bubbling and is horrible in person.. the door itself must have had a decent whack in it as it was worked on and you can still see sanding marks in the BONDO... the drivers side i just noticed something similar... but was very tough to notice...

the passenger door will be fixed eventually.. the hood has checking in it.. the sideskirts are dull... all in all-- the car is great.. but I think i cant get it better.. I dont know that it will be soon-- and like you said-- less stress driving it.. but.. yah..

I think it looks great!

Mine has its flaws up close too, but if you drive it and enjoy it thats what will happen.

welcome!!!

More pics ;)

OEM chrome wheels. Not sure where i stand with these. I love the stock rims.. but these add a "bling" to the car-- NOW- im not into BLING usually.. but this color.. it really == did something.

The wheels. Well, i was told they were flawless.. i paid, then the seller said he found a small chip... i said if its small- dont sweat it.. long story short-- theyre a bit more damaged that i was lead to believe.. Might have to get 2 centercaps redone- and 1 if not 2 rims re chromed some day. Seller is supposedly going to take care of me-- were working it out now.

I would love opinions. Im torn. Do i keep the stock wheels? let them go? tough call.. i will say i HATE the tires that came on them. Nitto something or other.. they are just too big looking for my taste. 245/45 in front, 275/40 DR's rear... I loved the 245/45 kumho's that are on my silvers. Might get them swapped and ebay the nitto's. They have a more squared profile...

Someone was on crack when they bought 245/45 for the front! Just get some 245/40 and be done with it.

I say KEEP the chrome wheels! If you got it, flaunt it!

Thanks guys== 245/45-- this is what is on my silver rims (pictured above) and they dont look like that. You know? they have a more "squared" profile.

It is actually driving me bananas.

the 275 rears dont even look the way i wanted. Anyone know what tires these are here? this is the look i MUST have.

viewtopic.php?t=1214

perhaps ill get a pair of 275 Kumho's and rob a set of the 245's off my silvers.
