I believe it will, though I've only scavenged them for parts. The power tracks in these cars are almost as junky as the CD players, the plastic gears strip, and the motors get weak for no known reason. You can take the motors apart, everything inside looks mint and nothing overheated, and they still get too weak to move the seat.pete3323 wrote:Do you know if the whole track would work?
So Whenever I see a '94-'98 in the yard with the power seat, I pull the track apart, get whatever good gears are there, and add them to the collection. Every track I've taken apart has at least one problem, so I wouldn't recommend buying a whole track and hoping it will work well as installed, buy them for parts instead if they are cheap enough at the pick'n'pull. But you might get lucky and find one that is still all good. If you do take yours apart to fix it, remove the factory gook from the gear boxes and replace it with white lithium grease.

My driver side seat motor was in the fritz also...I bought new motors/shaft from these guys:

It takes a little bit of modification to the seat track (have to cut out a very small tab for the bigger gear...here is a tutorial from Mustang Monthly:

Hope this helps...I got the forward and back motor and new shaft and has worked flawlessly since...
I think the issue is that ford used plastic gears that broke and thus binded up, this in turn caused the motors to work harder than designed and crap the bed...these ones form 2men1garage are stronger and I believe the gears are metal instead of plastic...
As far as ease of install...once you get the track off the bottom of the seat (4 bolts) everything is right there and pretty easy...

Thanks for the links st8. If i can't find something at the pick a part i will get in touch with them. Does anyone know if there is some way to remove a power seat that is all the way back. Every time i find one, i can't get the rear bolts because the seat is too far back. Is there a trick to this? I talking about at the junk yard so there is no power to move the seat.

Re: power seat track
I am also having problems with the forward/back seat motor....really sluggish, could this just need lube? My seat goes forward but refuses to go back?Could this possibly be the POWER SEAT TRACK CONTROL SWITCH ?
So the parts from a 94-98 seat track will work? This is has been on my list for a while.Any help or information would
be appreciated.
