Info needed on 1993 Cobra ***UPDATED***

Post by big frank »

I am looking at a 1993 Mustang Cobra that a friend owns. The car is
just about perfect in all aspects, having been covered and garaged
daily, and have lived all it's life away from the coast, inland, in
Northen California. It's a second owner, and I personally know both
the current owner and the origion buyer. Both keep their cars in
factory condition. The car is completely stock. The current owner
has every piece of paperwork from the window sticker and build sheet
to last months major tune up. The car has 109k miles on it.

My biggest question is that he wants about 10k for the car. Looking
at www.kbb.com tells me that in excelent condition, this car would
private party sell for around $7500 with the options it has. Ihave
been told by a couple of people that these cars bring more than blue
book value consistantly. I have not had any experience with the
Cobras, so I wouldn't know that to be true or not. Thanks in advance...

Frank

The car value guildes are way off on the value of the 93 cobras, I would say 7500 is the lowest value a running and driving cobra would be worth but up to as much as 25,000. I have seen wrecked parts cars bring as much as 5000 . If the car you are looking at is as clean as you say it is I think 10 k is reasonable.

Thanks for the info. That is what I have been getting told. The car is clean, especially for having 110k on it.

yeah, just look at the limited numbers of these cars, that speaks for itself. Then look at the color combo of car and that makes it even more limited.

The car is Teal with gray leather. Has the factory sun roof an although I didn't look (haven't driven the car yet) I think it has air. Everything else on the car is stock except the rearend gears which have been swapped out for 4:10's.

Talked again to the guy that has the car. He has just sold his house, and is buying another. Says he wants to wait 2 or 3 weeks to make sure that he has the cash to buy the other car he is looking at (newer Mach 1 that is blown). I hope he still wants to sell it in three weeks. If not, I'll be in the market for another. Will start looking here and a couple of other places.

Got one!

Post by big frank »

Couldnt wait on the friend that had the two owner car. Went down to Sacramento and bought a 93 teal-leather Cobra with 33k on the odometer, and is (was) a one owner. All stock except for a Flowmaster cat-back and a K&N filter in the origional air box. The stereo is also an aftermarket unit.

Other then a few rock chips and one spot on the rear bumper cover, the origional paint is nice. The rims are origional polished, and one has a bit of curb rash on it, but otherwise nice a clean. It does have an alarm and ignition disabler on it. It has power windows and locks, power seats, rear window defroster and air. It is so much fun to drive. I picked it up about 150 miles away. Unfortunatly, it rained a good part of the way home, so I didnt get to air it out much. I didnt realize how much I missed my 79 LX until today. Man I love this car!!! :D Will get some pic up as soon as the weather changes for the better.
