Time for some new speakers!

Post by ceetwarrior »

What have you guys done with your speaker setups? I only have two speakers that work right now. One comes in and out but not often.

I was pondering of getting the aftermarket ones then cutting off the harness on the stock ones and reusing it with the new speakers.

The stock deck doesn't put out much power so I probably won't need any high quality speakers or anything.... I do plan on getting an OEM cd player and installing it later on.

Snatch out all that stock crap and upgrade it all.

Remove the pins from the hard shell, this way you wont have to cut the OEM speaker wires

Will the speaker sound be any better even though I am using the stock deck?

What sizes did you go with, badboy?

All my speakers were the stock sizes so I didnt have to cut the car in any way.

I replaced the stock head unit as well and used the Cobra R radio delete kit so the car didnt have any holes in it.

I don't quite follow.... you replaced the deck but then you did the radio delete kit?

After you got stock size aftermarket speakers?

the radio delete plate made for the 93 cobra r is the best thing to use to mount an aftermaket head unit into a fox mustang witout cutting up or drilling holes in your dash.

Dude that looks sweet, very professional.

Now I'm having other problems with my stereo. But I don't know if it's the head unit or the speakers. Now it just cuts out and won't play sound it just has static and pops when I try and fool with it. WTH

Are you talking about the factory head unit? That is a common problem usually its the volume buttons that go bad.

Yes, stock cassette deck. All the bottons still function properly but now no sound. Normally I would think speakers are bad but there was two of them not working now all of a sudden all of them stopped. So I'm wondering if the deck died.

Like I said , I believe the volume control goes bad and you will have no sound or partial sound, along the poping sound when you press the volume contro lbuttons. I would just look for another one.

Replace that factory 14 year old technology with new current stuff, it makes a world of difference.
