faded a/c vents???

Post by pete3323 »

I noticed that the a/c vents as well as the dash pad and glove box latch on my car seem to be a different color. Are these parts suseptible to fade or have they perhaps been changed out at some point for other than opal grey? Is there a good product to try to bring back the original color? Thanks.

Mine are doing the same thing. Different material ages differently. And mine has been garaged most of its life too...

Yep, just pull the a/c vent out, wash it really good, scuff it down wiht a scotch brite, and apply a light coat of new dye to it, it will look brand new. You can do the same with the glove box latch. I have done a bunch of them. Make sure you order the enamal dye though, the lacquer dye doesn't seem to stick as good.

I know this is an old thread, but any info on getting the enamel dye online? My grey glove box latch is yellowing all other grey interior parts still look great
